Tinnitus and Sleep

Tinnitus intensity is often affected by ambient noise and the individual's attention to it. As such, tinnitus is often masked by environmental noise throughout the day and the person's distraction carrying on their daily activities. Very often, when people go to sleep, the ambient noise is very low and they have no other distractions so the perceived tinnitus is louder and more bothers.
