Epithelial Ingrowth
Epithelial ingrowth is migration of ocular surface cells called epithelial cells, along the edges of the flap to under the potential space under the LASIK flap. Topical steroids may be required to treat any post-operative inflammation but are well known to cause elevation of eye pressure in susceptible individuals, especially glaucoma patients and close monitoring is required.
