Bone Strength
Healthy human bone is extraordinarily strong. One cubic inch of bone can, in principle, bear a load of 19,000 lbs.— roughly the weight of five standard pickup trucks — making it about four times as strong as an equal weight of concrete. The humerus is actually stronger than most bones in the human body and is actually more flexible than the femur, which is regarded as the strongest bone in the body. Bone strength is greatest during the 20-29 age range and deteriorates gradually with age.
